A cream fit for wedding prep?

When I first saw the name of this cream, I was a little perplexed. What on earth is a “wedding program” cream? Although I’m none the wiser about the name, I can definitely tell you how it performed my normal-dry skin type.

WHAT IS IT?

Described by Merbliss, the brand, as a “moisturizing cream formulated with niacinamide ingredient helps the skin to look  brighter”. Essentially, this is a classic moisturizer to be used after toners and serums. Its purpose is to moisturize, brighten and leave skin with a healthy dewiness. My guess is that the dewiness is the link to the wedding theme- that glowy bridal look is the aim!

INGREDIENTS BREAKDOWN

There are a number of key ingredients in the cream for various purposes. Niacinamide is a proven ingredient for brightening. It can be really helpful to even out skin tone and overall brighten your complexion. Pearl extract is also marketed for brightening within this cream, although it’s low place on the ingredients list mean the effects are minimal.

For moisturizing, the cream includes squalane and numerous oils. The moisturizing ingredients really stand out for nourishing and deeply moisturizing and that’s apparent when using the product. Surprisingly, the oils don’t overpower the creamy texture nor leave an oily finish on the skin. For the full ingredients list see Jolse.

TEXTURE AND SCENT

Please be aware, if you’re sensitive to scents, this is a heavily scented product. That’s not to say it’s a negative- in my opinion, it’s a beautiful scent. Very fresh and feminine, and it does fade fairly quickly on application. The texture is a gel-cream hybrid that leaves skin deeply moisturised. I’d describe it as neither light nor heavy, but well balanced and suitable for day or night. It does leave a very pretty dewiness on the skin, so if that’s not your thing, perhaps stay clear.

RESULTS

As a bride-to-be, I’m a little embarrassed to admit it but I’m naturally drawn to all things “wedding”. So, although I don’t really understand the cream name, I’m here for it and was excited to test! Ultimately this is a strong contender for a daily cream, provided that you don’t mind the scent. It feels luxurious and leaves skin with a beautiful sheen. I enjoy scented products and for me, it adds to the luxury and sensory experience of this product. I also appreciate that it fades quickly, so I don’t get a headache! After using the cream for several weeks, my skin felt softer to touch and I felt that the product helped keep a healthy, plumped complexion. I wouldn’t describe it as a game-changer, but it does its job well and will be firmly staying in my cream rotation (yes, I have so many creams that I have them in rotation).
